Fake robbery ends with felony theft charge

Jennifer R. Lauretta, 31, of the 1100 block of Briarbrook Drive, Wheaton, was charged with felony theft and disorderly conduct at 4 p.m. on Wednesday at a business on the 1600 block of Douglas Road, Oswego police said.

Police were dispatched to the business in reference to a robbery that had just occurred. Lauretta told officers she was robbed while in the office of the business, but conflicting information between her and witnesses led police to determine the robbery story had been fabricated. An undisclosed amount of money was found in Lauretta’s possession.
