Rise in car burglaries raises village concern

Oswego Police are working residences in the Churchill Club, Farmington Lakes, Heritage, Mill Race Creek and Victoria Meadows subdivisions of a rash of car burglaries that have taken place recently.

For the past three months, these incidents, which have been occurring during late evening or early morning hours, have significantly increased the Village crime rate.

Oswego police are asking resident to report all suspicious activity immediately. Callers can remain anonymous.  And, because residents are less likely to be strolling the streets after midnight, police are asking people to be aware of vehicles or people lingering in the street or in subdivisions.

To prevent burglaries, police also recommend installing outdoor lighting and removing valuables from the car at night.
